When you use the Selfnamed Design Studio, you have full creative control over your brand's artwork, logo, and marketing copy.
However, to keep your products 100% legally compliant and ready to sell, our system automatically populates the required technical information on your packaging.
You do not need to (and should not) manually add these regulatory details to your design.
What we automatically print on your labels:
The INCI list (ingredients): The legally required, accurately formatted list of ingredients for that specific formula.
Usage instructions: Standardized product descriptions, usage directions, and necessary warnings provided in multiple languages.
Volume & weight: The net quantity of the product (e.g., 145ml / 4.90 fl.oz.).
Certifications & badges: Any applicable certification logos that the formula holds, such as ECOCERT / COSMOS Natural or Organic, and the Vegan badge.
Recycling & mandatory symbols: Standard industry symbols including the PAO (Period After Opening) jar icon, material recycling codes (e.g., PET 1), and mandatory regional sorting symbols like the French Triman logo.
Batch code & expiry: Dedicated placeholders for your unique production lot number and expiration/hourglass symbol (these are dynamically stamped at the facility when your order is fulfilled).
What this means for your design process
Because our system reserves specific areas on the label for this compliance data, you will see a locked, uneditable "technical area" when working in the Design Studio.
Please do not attempt to manually type your ingredients, volume, or add your own PAO symbols into your custom artwork areas. Doing so will result in duplicate information printing on your final product.
