This is our most comprehensive development service in collaboration with Cosmetics Nord, built for brands that want to create something entirely new. There's no base product to choose from — instead, we start from scratch and develop a formula built around your exact vision, from texture and performance to ingredients and scent.
Here's how it works:
Product brief: We start with a detailed brief covering your product concept, desired texture, performance goals, target skin type, key ingredients, scent direction, and any claims you want the product to support. If you have a reference product that captures any part of what you're going for, send it along – it helps us get closer to your vision faster.
Formulation development: Our R&D team develops a bespoke formula based on your brief. This is a full development process built entirely around your specifications. The timing can take starting from 6 months, based on your specific needs.
Packaging: While the formula is being developed, we'll work in parallel on finding the right packaging for your product. This keeps the process efficient and ensures that by the time the formula is ready, the packaging is too. If you have specific packaging in mind or want to supply your own, let us know. We’ll do our best to accommodate it, though we can't guarantee compatibility with every packaging option and it might prolong the process.
Samples: Depending on the complexity of the formula, you'll receive between 3 and 5 test sample rounds to evaluate and refine before moving forward.
Stability testing: Once the formulation is confirmed, it goes through a 3-month stability testing phase. This ensures the formula remains consistent in texture, scent, and appearance throughout the product's shelf life, and that it meets the safety and regulatory standards required to bring it to market.
Once all the testing is done and the product is confirmed to be safe to sell, you'll receive up to 50 test products, depending on the volume of the product.
After that, you'll be able to place your first order – we'll align with you on the minimum order quantity which will mainly depend on the packaging (for unique packaging – usually around 10,000 pieces, but for stock packaging the MOQ can sometimes be reduced to around 2,000 pieces). From there it's just a matter of waiting for fulfillment for your unique products. You'll hold an exclusive commercial license to sell the product, meaning no one else will be able to use or sell it under their brand.
Complete timeline: Starting from 6 months if development begins from an existing product base, and a minimum of 12 months for a full from-scratch formulation. Timeline varies based on complexity and the number of test batch iterations.
